B-Town Pizza | 10th & the ByPass | Bloomington, IN

THIS PIZZA RULES! Please read this entire review to understand why I think this. First off, I am a business owner in Bloomington and eat A LOT of order-out pizza due to my busy schedule. Pizza also happens to be my favorite meal. I have also been (in my early years) a pizza cook and delivery person. In addition, this is my home town and I was born in the ’60′s so as you can imagine, I have seen many pizza places come and go around here. Anyway, I would have to give this company a big 5 stars all-round. I read some other reviews and sure these guys might flub up here and there. C’mon, they’re young guys and new to business. Let’s give them a chance. I know how tough it is to make a business take off, so personally I will cut them some slack (not that they messed up my order in any way). They were good on the phone when helping me pick my order, and they got it here fast. I also ordered for a small party so it was a larger-than-normal order. Since this was my first taste of B-town Pizza, I was curious to see if it would taste like cardboard. I’m always a big skeptic at first. But this pizza was GREAT! This was some of the best pizza I’ve had and I’ve sampled pizza from all around the country and all over the world. I am thoroughly impressed… no, blown away! I think thispizza could win contests and blind taste-tests. It’s actually close to the best pizza I have ever had which was done by a bunch of Sicilian guys who barely spoke English. We’re talking real za. So yeah, I would love to see how B-town is making it’s pie. This must be from a family recipe or something. It’s so good, there has to be a story behind it. Something to do with the “old country” I’m sure. The flavors are highly developed and sophisticated, yet sublime. My guess is they’re spritzing it with a little bit of high-quality Romano/Parmesan (the dry cheese powder stuff) right before it hits the oven. The sauce is a perfect balance between slightly-sweet and pepper-spicy. The dough is great too. Anyway, just try this pizza. I plan to order a lot more myself. I want to be able to rank them on consistent taste after a few more tries, which I can’t do at this point. But, I can already see that these guys are going to be the up-and-comers to beat on the price/taste ratio. I also think they’re going to be around for a long time to come. See what you think of the flavor yourself and fire back on me here if you think I’m nuts. By the way, we liked the price and every single one of my guests loved the taste too. Great job guys!

I live really close to this place, but just recently tried it out. I regret not have come here sooner!! Free toppings are a huge plus for me, but what really blew me away was the great service, which I have found is in short supply in Bloomington. The cashier was warm and genuinely helpful. This has officially become my new fav pizza spot.

The pizza is cheap and tasty and they offer great deals.  They have all kinds of pizzas (all the usual ones plus some really imaginative specialty pizzas like a chicken pizza with hot sauce instead of pizza sauce and another cheesy one with olives and sundried tomatoes — good stuff for you meat and cheese lovers).  I always eat pizza without meat and dairy and BTown is the only place I’ve found with a vegan pizza right on the menu.  I love it!  The sauce is a little spicy (which is awesome) and the pizza is baked in a real oven so the crust is just right.

I think this is going to be one of my new favorite Pizza places in Bloomington. Good crust, cooked very nicely (not underdone like many places). Good flavor and texture. There were spices mixed in to the dough — I would have preferred if they had gone without this. The cheese was very good, rich, but not overpowering. The sauce was excellent …. tangy and bright, just the right amount of spice. The breadsticks were good as well, although the dough could have used quite a bit more salt or a longer ferment.

I am slowly but surely converting many friends to BTown Pizza from Pizza X and Aver’s. The guy who took the order was great, and let me make changes to my order even after I said “all right, sounds good” without any hassle. The pizza came right on time and was fresh and delicious as always. Oh, by the way, they remember your phone numbers and save your name and address if you call more than once. That’s pretty awesome. BTown Pizza, you are my favorite thing to eat after 11 pm.

The best gluten free pizza I’ ve ever had. It’s huge, and totally worth the price. It could probably feed two… but I devoured it by myself since I don’t get good pizza very often and I was excited to have it. It (from what I can remember) tastes just like NY pizza. Lovelovelove.

Awesome Vegetarian Options this place has more veggie toppings than any place i know of, including aver’s, and their sauce is way better!! the breadsticks and sauces are all great, and my vegan friends even can have vegan cheese! decent prices too, and friendly delivery people

This is my new pizza default. The regular crust is fantastic. The mozzarella is particularly better than anywhere I’ve gotten real cheese (tho they also have a vegan option) Most places have that high-fat/low-protein stuff that’s just shy and creamy (still talking about the mozzarella here, not the vegan cheese),but this stuff seems to have a higher protein content which makes for stretchy, chewy deliciousness. The way pizza slices looked on TV in the 90s. This stuff is ninja-turtles worthy.
